Current Research Activities
My present work involves design and preparation of novel solid electrodes and electrolyte materials for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), and characterize for application. We are also trying to find new materials for proton conducting SOFC to run at intermediate temperature. Biomass energy conversion using invasive trees, municipality solid waste, fish waste, sewage sludge is also one of our areas of interest. We are also trying to improve the photocatalytic activity of some materials using graphene nano-particles. For sample preparation and characterization we have: chemicals, high temperature furnace (1700 oC), ball mill, pellet press, impedance spectrometer, bomb calorimeter, pyroliser, gasifier, X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, Fuel cell testing jig, UV-vis spectrometer etc.
